Oh yes, I forgot to tell you guys that another reason why I stayed up so late yesterday was to actually experience 01:02:03 04/05/06. Haha, it can only happen once I guess, so ya... =)

Have been mugging Chemistry all these while. I really miss Ms. D'costa, and her notes are like so useful to me. Must thank her one day... Hoho...

Today marks the beginning of my mid-year examinations.

Higher Chinese. Supposingly my MOST confident subject, but I felt really shaky at some parts.

Paper 1 was exhausting, and I didn't quite like any of the questions. :S
Paper 2 was totally retarded.

If you compare bi-weekly (which have 1 close passage and 3 comprehensions <in which one is just MCQ>) to my Higher Chinese paper, which have 1 close passage and 4 comprehensions (SOMEMORE ALL SENTENCE QUESTIONS) plus a 80-word long summary, it takes REALLY little common sense to realise that the HCL paper needs a LONGER DURATION than 2 hours. How can you expect us to finish SO MUCH in 2 hours? Bi-weekly, which is sooo simple, has a duration of 2 hours, and HCL, something which is so mentally exhausting, is timed with 2 hours as well? No no, not this way.

But anyways, maybe next time I should learn how to rush and write non-stop like a mad cow. Chinese has taught me how to write like a typewriter... Woohoo!

I just got back from my English oral exam, which will be counted in the PRELIMS IF I AM NOT WRONG.

It was ridiculous. My teacher was Miss Tracy Goh. I can't deny that her standard is SOOOOOOOOOO =="llll and considering the fact that she speaks like some fine BRITISH LADY, I should know that my marks wouldn't go very high.

But 18/24 is just evil. And the worst part is that I didn't even FINISH TALKING about the picture and she already started prompting me. At the end of the whole process, she commented on the fact that I should never let the teacher prompt me and take the initiative to talk more. What-the-bian-tai?

It's like you going for a job interview and just as you were about to begin introducing yourself to your employers, they tell you that you are not speaking, and hence infer that you are lousy in communication and asks you to leave the next second. It's @()#@)($(@)($! +#+~!#$@.

Besides, how to "take the initiative to TALK MORE" when you interrupted me half-way? It's SO DUMB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But thank God there is another round of oral.
And this is really not very important, cause my O levels are not affected at all.
It's still clean with an A1. =)

Took me some time to organise a very touching story for you guys.
It's really long, so I've decided to do a webpage on it.

As I have said, the story is super, super long. I finished reading it in 1 and a half hours, but I don't think most of you would have the patience to complete the story with one breathe, hence I labelled them into chapters, and you can always come back to where you have stopped or remember where your scrollbar was.

The title of the story is called "抱歉你只是个妓女", which means "I'm sorry, but you are a prostitute".

I cried after reading it. In fact I read this story twice, it's really very touching. So now, here's the link. =) Click me!

Ok guys, I think we should stop the "copying" thing now. Somethings might not be fair to Javier. But I wasn't totally referring to him anyways, so ya... I believe he will bring us surprises when he establish his next layout! Kudos!

I'm gonna blog about yesterday's track and field meet, the movie after that and today's National Skit Competition!

Fintan totally pawned the other houses. We rock. Thanks hor!
Hahaha... Yeah, we are the champion house of track this year! WOOHOO! We won last year as well, haix, too pro le.. =P

And as for the class championship, 435 LOST TO 433! HOW COULD IT BE?!!! AHHHHHHHHH!!!! Lol... We expected to win, but we didn't. But it's okay, we are still the champions. ;)

Went for movie with Ben, Gab, Guo and Tim after that. We watched "Take the Lead"... AND WE WERE LATE AGAIN, YOU KNOW WHY? CAUSE THE MAD ASS STAFFS IN THE LONG JOHN SILVER IN TOA PAYOH ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE ARE ALL MENTALLY CHALLENGED!

"Hi, can I have the Grilled Cajun Chicken?"
"Okay."

"You want the Grilled Cajun Chicken?"
"Yes."

"Grilled Cajun Chiken ah... Hmmm..."

Great film.
Very classy.

The story of a dance instructor who taught a group of students how to dance during their detention classes.

I have nothing much to complain. Great music, great dancing and great acting. Antonio Banderas had this charm which was unreplacable. Great choice of casting.

The only thing which I disliked was the ending, which was SO lame.
SO SO SO LAME!

They didn't tell me who won the competition.
They didn't tell me how did the lovers unite.
They didn't tell me what did the school do after the competition.

It's a super weak ending. Spoiled the movie alittle, oh well...

But anyways, we liked it. Great morals behind the movie.
Worthwhile.

Overall rating for "Take the Lead": 7/10

This part of the post is not to humiliate or hurt anyone. So please don't think too much. The issue for today is "copying".

Alot of people have been telling me the same thing MANY MANY MANY MANY MANY MANY MANY times: Javier copied your layout, again.

Although I know the reasons why, I usually ask, "Tell me about it".

The usual thing I get is: "Oh, he copied your layout again, you see that font/picture/leave/format, it's all from your layout". Another type of comment is usually like this: "Everytime you change your layout, he changes his layout too. And it's always something copied plus a little editing to make it look different, but you can see from the code, it's just the same. Can't hide it".

Today, I heard things like: "Javier copied your layout and used for Jianhao's template".

Haix.

Everytime I ask Javier about it, he will usually come up with things like "I've thought of it before" or "It's so common and so easy to copy".

I was really sick of it at 1st, but soon I realised I should learn to accept it. I can't do anything to PREVENT people from stealing my code, unless I blog with flash, which I really think I should.

But the thing is that copying my stuff only tells me one thing. My layout is so brilliant that it inspires the needy ones. Well, instead of going to places like blogskin.com or what, he has to take sources directly from me. So ya, I'm glad that this is actually some sort of an affirmation for me. =)

I can't stop you from copying my stuff, so please, if you feel like it, suit yourself. But I just hope that you can keep some dignity with you. If you take ideas from me, at least credit me or something. I spend alot of time doing photoshop and coding for my layouts, so it's not fair for me if you just copy and take it as YOURS.

Another thing is that I am totally fine if you copy my stuff for your personal use, but please don't use my layouts for OTHER people. It's like so ridiculous. Can you imagine I did everything and you just take it and give to others? It's shameless.

So, my dear readers, I hope you understand how I feel.

Wanted to blog about this quite long ago, but I didn't want to embarrass anyone. I just hope that my point has been clearly delievered across.

21/04/06 :: Mixed emotions.
We had our National Inter-school Trampoline competition yesterday.
It really didn't feel like it was just yesterday.

Last year, our C' div came back with a gold, and our B' div managed to get a bronze. This year, C' div only managed to come in 4th, together with our B' div, who took back the bronze.

I must say these gymnasts train really hard. Don't be too despair. We are proud of you guys.

Tomorrow is the National Skit Competition. Very scary, I'm really not in the mood to act. And trust me, it's not going to be "fun". I don't know, it's just so stressful, it didn't even seem like it was an activity in which we can just go there and have fun. I hate things like this.

I really need to get down to some serious work now. Hope keeping myself busy would relieve me from all the nonsense that is bothering me now.

I must learn to be happy. =)

Oh, and I just CAN'T wait for "Da Vinci Code" to be released.
May 19, less than a month to go.

Ok, a movie review for you. ^^

My all-time favourite movie poster. It has never changed.

I loved this movie so much, in fact I loved it more than the novel itself.
Gorgeously shot. =)

"Pride and Prejudice" is a classical piece written by Jane Austen, and more than 2 directors have filmed this book into a movie. I didn't watch the first one, but I am really impressed by the 2005 one.

The movie was close to perfection, and it's rare for me to think this way.
Every scene is as beautiful as its poster. In fact very scene of this movie can be made into a poster. It's just so... deliriously charming. The colours were beautiful and the settings were just so amazingly real. It's like as if you really belong to that era. Best visual in years.

Director Joe Wright made this movie into a classic. I was shocked to find out that this is actually his first movie. As a newcomer, I must say that Wright did a fantastic job.

Keira Knightley was amazing too. Her charm was inresistible. We've seen her in so many different genres and she didn't screw up a single movie of hers. It just shows how capable she is.

Great movie. Collect it on DVD!

Overall rating for "Pride and Prejudice": 9.5/10

Got back home from school around 5 something...

1st thing I did was to check on my downloading status.

Yep, so I watched it. And 3 words to summarize the whole movie: I WANTED MORE!

Yes, I'm a huge fan of "Scary Movie".
Watched all 3, and I could watch them for an unlimited number of times, without keeping sick of any.

My favourite is "Scary Movie 2", followed by 1 and then 3.

The sad thing is, "Scary Movie 4" is the least of my favourites.

1st of all, the movie is amazingly short. 72 minutes. =="lll
"Lord of the Rings - Return of the King" is 3 times longer. Why can't David Zucker make this film just alittle bit longer so that more things can be covered? Haix...

I was surprised that "Brokeback Mountain" was added to this giant parody... Hahaha... Loved the parts on "Saw", "War of the Worlds", "Million Dollar Baby", "The Grudge" (Ju-on) and "The Village". I did watch all of the above movies, so it's really fun to see how they connect every movie together.

OH YES! If you have watched the 3rd movie, you should remember Brenda getting "killed" by her good friends. Haha... Yes, and by rights, she was dead. But if you have seen the poster of "Scary Movie 4", you should be shocked to see Brenda coming back. And you must be very curious of how the hell did the producers do it? Let me tell you.

Location: "War of the Worlds" aeroplane crash scene.

Brenda walks out from her sit and screamed at Cindy.
Brenda: "HEY YOU! THAT'S MINE!!!! I FOUND THAT!!"

But anyways, I still love the whole idea of the movie. Fantastic "crude" humour and alot of good parodies that will make you laugh-until-die.

It's coming out in June here at Singapore. Be patient. =)

Yes, my bandwidth almost EXPLODED during this long weekend. Eeks!

I got up at 9:57 today.
I remember this timing SO DAMN WELL because this is the exactly time when this dumbly retarded spyware got my system infected.

Then, my so-called "BEST Anti-virus program" in the WORLD, "Trend Micro PC-cillin", detected it and attempted to remove. This is where the problem comes in...

"Denied Access".

Ok, so this damn spyware is attacking my SYSTEM. It's found in my system folder, so as long as my computer is still running, I cannot remove it.

I did multiple scans and hijacks, went around the net, looking for help and I got nothing. And it was noon already.

I thought of ALL the methods I should use. The spyware folder is hidden so I cannot have direct access to it. I tried removing it from my anti-virus program but it didn't work as it was, as I have said, hidden.

So now, I cannot delete it because it was hidden, and I cannot remove it because my system is still running.

What do you think I did?

I downloaded this program called "Delete Doctor". Then I force delete the file during my reboot.

It actually worked. I deleted it myself, and even PC-cillin couldn't do it.

From all these time and efforts that I have wasted, I learnt one thing:
Indeed, the HUMAN brains are more powerful than any computer program.

It's so true.

Many many awards. "Best Picture" winner in the Oscars. I did expect alot.

Result? It not only met my expections, but it exceeded it.

One of the top 5 movies I've ever watched in my life.

A Brentwood housewife and her D.A. husband. A Persian store owner. Two police detectives who are also lovers. An African-American television director and his wife. A Mexican locksmith. Two car-jackers. A rookie cop. A middle-aged Korean couple. They all live in Los Angeles. And during the next 36 hours, they will all collide.

The thing to this movie is that it's very REAL. If you had read articles on this film, you should know that "Crash" is a movie which talks about racial discrimination. REAL racial discrimination.

The "n" word appeared more than 40 times throughout the movie. People of different races curse each other like nobody's business and all these racial conflicts made up the skeleton of the film.

But it's not just a racist movie. There's alot of love. There's alot of feelings. There's anger, there's fear, there's unjustice. Quite a number of the scenes made me tear, and I must really comment on the music, can't wait to hear the soundtrack.

"Crash" is one fantastic example of how a low-budget independent film can outshine many other "heavy" films. I must really say that "Crash" really deserve the "Best Picture" award. "Brokeback Mountain" seemed to lack alot of things after I've seen "Crash".

I loved this film.
Like crazy. =)

I just love these mornings, where I can wake up without the disturbance of an alarm clock. 自然醒的感觉真的很好。

As promised, I need to blog about what happened during Founder's Day. =)
And yes, here's what I've got:

Actually, if you remember, I blogged about a similar issue one year ago. That shows how long I've blogged for... More than a year already!

Yep. So anyways, I want to say my thank-yous, especially to 许老师, in fact all credit goes to her as she helped me so much in my Chinese. But of course I mustn't deny that I am just too good. WAHAHA... Just kidding. ;)

After the founder's day celebration, Javier, Lucas, Wayne, Zhao Dong and I went for a movie. We picked "Inside Man" out of many other selections, and despite of the fact that Javier thinks it sucks, the other 4 liked it very much.

I say this movie was remarkably done.

First of all, with the sparkling casting of Denzel Washington, Clive Owen and Jodie Foster, nothing much can go wrong. Acting was great and memorable.

Secondly, the story was well-developed and very well paced. Not too fast, and not too draggy, right at the correct point, the director takes you to what you want to see. Suspense was there and everything seemed to be a mystery to me, and you just WANT to see what is going to happen. That's why I doubt anyone can actually fall asleep while watching "Inside Man".

Thirdly, I must say that the plot is very cleverly done. Every single detail has been taken care of and not a single part was predictable. It's a fresh movie in the industry and I loved it.

The only flaws was with the music and the sensored part.
I have no idea why Spike Lee wants to start off such a great film with lame BANGARA DANCE music. It's so... lame. Maybe he thinks it's cute, but it's not. The film isn't filmed in India or whatsoever, and the bangara music has no relation to any part of the movie... So... ya, just... lame.

Another thing is that sensored "f" words and all the other vulgarities that our casts use. To make it PG-13, it was necessary. They use them TOO much. Lol... But I thought that if the MDA can release 2 versions, maybe one which is sensored and the other one NC-16, that would be a better way of eliminating bad influence on kids. Also, WE, as the teenagers, really hated to see people get MUTED every minute or two while they were talking.

But still, I think it's a great movie. Go catch it!

2nd movie, "Three Times". 《最美的时光》。

It's only showing in the Picturehouse. The new Cathay. NC-16 by the way.

Downloaded this film because of 2 reasons: The awards it won (including Best Film, Best Director and Best Female Lead in Golden Horse Awards) and of course, for Shu Qi and Zhang Zheng.

But it turned out to be utterly disappointing.

The film is filmed in three different time periods, 1966, 1911, 2005, and it has three different stories but the same couple of actor and actress. Shu Qi and Chang Chen play out the two lead roles, evoking a sentimental tale of a three-reincarnation of an unfinished love...

Out of all 3 times, my favourite is the 1st. At least it made alittle SENSE to me.
The 2nd era, which took place in ancient China, was totally CRAPPY. The actors didn't get to talk at all, everytime they say something, their lines will be flashed on a lame wallpaper. It's like a powerpoint presentation. So disgustingly done.

The 3rd era is the worst of all. Shu Qi becomes this lame lesbian who was in love with a girl but ended up having a relationship with Chang Chen. SO RETARDED!!! It's so dumb!!!

The movie is super slow going. 1 scene of pool-playing can drag for 20 minutes. I really don't understand what Hou Hsiao Hsien is trying to do.

It's a classical "falling asleep" movie.

Oh, and one more thing I don't understand is why this film is classified as NC-16. It has like no sex scenes or whatsoever. Or maybe it's because MDA thought that the movie is SOOO dumb and retarded that kids shouldn't watch it? I don't know. Probably.

Hello! Surprised? Hahaha...

I hope you didn't wait for nothing. This layout took me REALLY long to do. About 4 hours. Wahahaha...

Wanted to do something different, so I threw away my old templates and tried a more complicating one. Don't think this kind of layout is easy to do, all the HTML crap almost killed me.

Anyways, I really love this layout. It's like a breakthrough? Wahaha... Seriously. Figured out quite a number of new codes and it really took me THAT long to complete what you are seeing now.

Now that I have upgraded my layout, Javier wouldn't be able to copy anymore. Woohoo! =P

For a more complicating layout like this, I have to blog more "complicatingly" as well. Alot of codes are quite messed up, but of course you can't see them lah, so I still need time to fix them up.

Meanwhile, I will have to do some maintenance for my older blogs. Alot of stuff to do... Thank God I have the whole weekend to myself.
