12/04/06 :: 50 cents for an email.
One day, Peter came to his teacher and said "Mrs. Tan, I don't like Paul. I hate him!"

Then, Mrs. Tan asked Peter a question, "Peter, do you like to eat apples?"

Peter replied, "No, I hate apples, I prefer pears!"

"Ok, then do you think it's the apple's fault that you don't like it?"

"Of course not!"

"So do you think it's Paul's fault that you don't like him?"

Peter was speechless.

Just a simple story, but alot of things to learn from it. Most of the times we think it's always others' faults that make us unhappy or upset, but did we ever look at ourselves before jumping to conclusions?

Something to think about!

=)

11/04/06 :: Busy exhaustion.
Wah super tired these days, hence explaining the lack of entries.
Paiseh!

Anyways, I still didn't blog about "Inside Man" and my 高级华文第一prize. Wahaha...

Meanwhile, please be patient. My layout will come SOON.

Yes I promise, SOON.

08/04/06 :: Cherish.
Read a few really touching stories just now. Took me about 2 hours to read a story which had about 50000 words... I would like to share with you another piece though... not the MOST touching one but I really liked it. Picked this one out of so many others as the vocabulary in this story is not that "chim", so I hope you guys can understand. Hahaha... Hope you like it. By the way, if you cannot view chinese, go to "View" > "Encoding" >, then select either "Chinese Simplied" or "Unicode". =)

05/04/06 :: Untitled.
Planning to do a new layout soon.
This time I want a COMPLETE make-over.

Everything must change, everything.

Please have some patience, I will try to get it done by Sunday.

Cheers! =)

--------------------------------------------------------
04/04/06 :: Cold water.
I just love rainy days.

You put on a thick blanket, lie down comfortably with a big cup of hot chocolate next to your bed. You can sleep, you can read a book, you can even listen to some bossa nova.

You can do anything you want. =)

Ok, today I will go on to "Transamerica" and "Big Momma House 2".

First up, "Transamerica".

--------------------------------------------

Hmm, I downloaded one this.
It's R21 in Singapore, can't watch it in the theaters.

Has been wanting to watch this film because of 2 reasons.
1) Felicity Huffman of course, one of your desperate housewives.
2) Awards. Felicity Huffman won "Best Actress" in Golden Globes because of this film. Many many other nominations for some other film festivals as well.

I downloaded the DVD-rip of this film, hence the quality was pretty good and it didn't affect my viewing pleasure.

Bree (Felicity Huffman) is a very conservative transexual woman. She was waiting for her final surgery before she becomes a true woman. However just as she was about to get the permission from her doctor on her surgery, her long-lost son came back. She had to settle her son before her doctor would allow her to do so, and so the story develops slowly into the journey of pain and love between the 2 of them.

Yes, just in case you are still curious, she has to act like she DIDN'T know who the child so that the boy wouldn't suspect anything of her. But actually, she is his FATHER. Ok if you still don't get it you can go and die now.

I say Felicity Huffman did a fantastic job.
She had to lower her voice and talk like a man for the entire movie, and there were a few super-sensitive scenes in the movie, like the son wanting to have sex with her (can you imagine how complicated the plot is? The son wanting to have sex with a woman who is actually his father... LOL). Another one is when she had to urine with her male sex organ and all that, it's really not easy to do as you get all your reputation flushed down the toilet after people see you do that. I know she is acting and all that, but surely people will feel weird if they see her to act in another movie because "Transamerica" is simply too influential, most people KNOW Felicity Huffman and REMEMBER Felicity Huffman from "Transamerica" and I tell you all you will think of is the transexual woman at the end of the day.

She is so good, it turns classical.
I hope you understand what I am trying to say. Haha!

Anyways, I loved it. Even cried, very touching story.

Overall rating for "Transamerica": 8.5/10

---------------------------------

Next, "Big Momma House 2"...

-------------------------------------------

Caught this one with Wayne and Gab at J8 a long time ago.
Initially wanted to watch "Date movie", but our dearest Wayne looks TOO young to be 16, so we didn't get in. Wahaha...

Honestly speaking, I didn't watch the first one but I had really high expectations for this film as it topped the box office in US that week.

But it turned out to be really =.="lll.

I hated Martin Lawrence, he is really a very "shy?" actor. Not suitable for a wild role like that and I seriously doubt the eyesights of the producers. The jokes all so cliche and =.="lll. The only funny parts are the kiddish and "crude" parts. Other than that, it's a pretty EMPTY movie. Everything was so illogical and =.="lll.

But you see, with people like Gabriel around, even the LAMEST thing sounds funny.

So HA-HA! We laughed like crazy.

Overall rating for "Big Momma House 2": 7/10

------------------------------------------

Ok that's all for today.

Going to take a nap, then HOMEWORK TIME!

...
--------------------------------------------------------
03/04/06 :: Long long day...
Those who didn't watch Campus Superstar Finals yesterday and those who watched and voted for Zhi Yang, go and die.

Wahahaha no lah, I have to admit Zhi Yang was really good, Teresa lost by just a slight margin. So sad! I voted for Teresa like mad. AHHHHHHHHHH!

Okay but still, it's over.
No need to talk about it anymore... The winner didn't win contracts or anything, just cash and prizes, so no point fighting over who really DESERVED to be champions, I think both of them are already winners.

----------------------------------

Let's continue with my list:
> V for Vendetta
> Dorm
> Big Momma House 2
> 2 Become 1
> Transamerica

I'm doing "V for Vendetta" and "Dorm" today. =)

-------------------------------------------

It's my favourite movie (so far) of the year.
1) There is Natalie Portman.
2) I have been waiting for it eversince last year.
3) Unique production.

Trust me, you have never seen something like this before.

I watched it a few weeks ago with Wayne and Tim at Balestier. It's a really loooooooong show, it has a loooooong story and you just have to go to the toilet for at least once during the movie.

This is a very political movie, content surrounds terrorism, the media, the government and the people. One thing that I really liked about the movie is that it was not like some lame "imaginary" thing like all the "King Kong" crap as they will NEVER happen in real life. This film gave me the impression that one day, our world will become like this.

There will be just this one hero, who will save all of us, and change to saying of "The people should be afraid of the government" to "The government should be afraid of the people".

I don't know. Maybe, just maybe.

Anyways, I loved Natalie Portman and Hugo Weaving's acting. Oscar standard.

Do catch it, it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Overall rating for "V for Vendetta": 9/10

-------------------------------

Next, "Dorm".

----------------

Watched this one with Lucas on the day of Jon's birthday.

Expected it to be REALLY good since it was produced by the same producers who filmed "Shutter". But this crap turned out really disappointing.

Not scary at all? It's just some mediocre movie between DRAMA and HORROR.

Didn't really like it. =S

Overall rating for "Dorm": 6/10

Ok guys I'm really tired now, will blog more tomorrow.

Nights! =)
--------------------------------------------------------
02/04/06 :: Teresa forever!
Who cares if she didn't win, she's still my #1. =)

JIA YOU TERESA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

--------------------------------------------------------
30/03/06 :: What a beautiful day...
It is raining outside.
I love rain in the late afternoon. =)

Just a little checklist to see what I should blog about.
> Wolf Creek
> Nanny McPhee
> V for Vendetta
> Dorm
> Big Momma House 2
> 2 Become 1
> Transamerica
> Jon's birthday party (not a movie by the way... Bhx!)

> CLS camp
> Prefectorial board camp

I will start 1 by 1, today I wanna finish "Wolf Creek" and "Nanny McPhee". =)
Ok let's start with the lousier one. "Wolf Creek".

-------------------------------------------

Venue: Cineleisure
Peeps: Wayne, Lucas, Zhao Dong
Prelude: Dinner at Cafe Cartel

Thank God we had our dinner before watching this shit.
1st, we were late, because the lame waiters in Cafe Cartel were really screwed up. Not only do they have serious attitude problems, they are also sexually confused. BHX! All weird weird one. Ok that's irrelevant. So after the really "fantastic" meal, we went in to the theater. 10 minutes late.

The starting was lame, therefore it didn't really matter whether you miss 10 minutes or 1 hour of the film. It went on and on, boring... boring... boring... AND then suddenly, it became CHAO BIAN TAI!

For the entire 2nd part of the 95 minute film, the 4 of us went crazy. This is what you get from this beautiful NC-16 film:
1) Eye balls getting shot around.
2) Backbones getting TWISTED.
3) Bodies getting slashes.
4) Retarded shooting scenes.
5) Tons of rose syrup. Tons.

It's freaking sick. We watched until we kept shouting things like "RUN!!!!", "DODGE!!!!!", "DON'T TALK!!!!", "DUCK LAH!!!!!"...

And people kept looking at us. Lol.

The climax of the movie is when it officially ended. We were jumping for joy as we can finally free ourselves from this "horrible" film. Basically everyone turned and looked at us when the lights went on... obviously we were alittle bit TOO noisy. Hehehe...

Story: 0/10
Acting: 0/10
Direction: 10! Yay!!! But it's 10/10000000000000000000000000000. Bhx.

Overall rating for "Wolf Creek": 0/10

---------------------------------

Next up, Nanny McPhee.

--------------------------------------------

Venue: Lido
Peep: Pei Tze

Okay, this is a FREE movie. Hahaha... Thanks to PT for the treat! =P

Out of many movies, we picked this one. It's probably one of the rare family shows released recently. Too much of crappy movies in the theaters nowadays and most of them are pretty disappointing, so we expected this kid's show to impress us.

And it did.

It was purely family entertainment, entertainment for everyone.
Sweet story line, sweet family problems and sweet sweet little actors.

It was a sweet movie with fantastic morals behind it.
Like what Mike has blogged about, I love the "If you need me and do not want me, I will stay. If you do not need me but want me, I will leave" thing. And there are many many morals to learn from the film, you need to watch it for the experience.

The only thing which I didn't like about the movie is that I seriously don't understand why Nanny McPhee has to become PRETTIER everytime she tought her kids a new lesson. So retarded.

But still, I loved it. And oh ya! PT and I had Mos for supper. =P.........

Overall rating for "Nanny McPhee": 8/10

---------------------------------

Ok people, I need to study for tomorrow's test le.
See ya around! =P

PS: Guys if you don't mind, please help me blog about the fact that my blog has been revived, as I really don't know how to inform all my readers about it, so I hope you guys can help. Thanks ya! ^^
--------------------------------------------------------
28/03/06 :: My blog, is BACK!!!!!!
I checked my Hotmail.

And there was a email from Bizhat.
Didn't bother to read it, went straight to my FTP and attempted a login.

OMG.

I GOT IN!

It's like you were in the movies and you had a full bladder for 3 and a half hours (LOTR). After the movie ends, you run straight to the toilet and release everything.

Eh...
It feels great. =)

Anyways, please be patient, I got 10000000 things to blog about.

And I won't miss a thing. ;)

MAKING UP TIME!!!!!!!!
--------------------------------------------------------
09/03/06 :: Life.
Sometimes, it is days like this which makes me realise how important my blog is.

Everyday in your life, things happen. Everything has an impact on you, no matter good or bad, and how deeply you have been affected, you walk out of the situation being a different person.

The only reason why you are still living on this earth is because you bother about your life.

I love to see how my life changes, and how the lives of others change together with me.
That's why I love to watch movies. In that 2 to 3 hours of time, I can temporarily forget about the things that are happening in my own life, and experience the lives of others. I don't need to worry about anything at all, I am in a space which don't really exist. I can cry, laugh and do anything I want in this space of mine and nobody would look at you like a weirdo. But this is not permanent, after you walk out of the cinema, you realise it's back to your own life. You realised you didn't manage to find anything in the lives of others, because ultimately, it's your life. You walk it yourself.

Perfection doesn't exist.
And I don't need perfection. Life is not only about doing well in everything, scoring As for all your subjects and finding the best jobs in the future. Life is about yourself, how you grow and how you think about different things. Some people spend a life time to look for that one answer, many succeed, and many failed. Failure is not a bad thing. People stand up from failures, and create glory the next time.

Sometimes, things seemed to be planned. Destiny and time wouldn't listen or wait for you. The only way to be contented is to accept the things that are thrown to you, tolerant those which you can't do anything make a change.

I believe that after the rain, sunshine comes, without fail.

It's true.
--------------------------------------------------------
07/03/06 :: Perspectives.
There was house cheering yesterday.
Yes, Lawrence won.

Congratulations to them. =)

But you see, yes, they were good, but Michael seemed to the the more deserving winner. They had fantastic props, great coordinations and powerful cheers. Lawrence's dynamic gave them a superb start, but they died down after that. Also, they used the same backdrop and banners for 3 years. Isn't it boring? Seriously.

I don't know, maybe it's true that the Lawrence had the winning formula, but honestly speaking, in many people's views, Michael was the true winner. Yeah, maybe.

I am so proud of Fintan, and all 4 houses did an equally good job.

Fintan might have lost out in the cheering competition, but we will win the ultimate trophy!

GO FINTAN!!!
GAMBATTE!!!

PS: We are really excited about the CLS camp. =P
Hope the teachers will allow the committee members to stay overnight 1 day before the camp, it will be so fun man! And watch out for our zhi wei's performance, we will rock you! ROAR!

Heehee...

Oh ya, "Date Movie" with Wayne tomorrow. ;) Pun intended.
--------------------------------------------------------
06/03/06 :: Retarded.
If someone goes around the whole world saying that "I AM RETARDED!" and after you heard it, you call him a "RETARD", and then he feels ANGRY and complains about you, do you think it's fair?

And if someone keeps irritating you despite constant warning and ADVISING, do you think you can keep tolerating till the end of the days?

There is a limit to everyone's tolerance.

Students, prefects, teachers, principals.
Everyone.

Haix.
Life's a struggle.

When you try too hard to make a change, life may decide to play a little trick on you.

No matter how right your intentions were, people can twist them all around the place, making you angry and pissed, and then stupid things happen.

God told me today, everything is a learning process.

I learnt, but did he?

PS: I am not talking about anyone who reads my blog. Yep, so don't worry.
--------------------------------------------------------
05/03/06 :: Going up high~
Yay WG is very happy. Hahaha...

I got pretty good results for TA1. Better than many. Heehee... =P
I'm now unloaded. No more designs to do, no more major projects / homework.
I've finished my self-composed song. =P
HOLIDAYS ARE COMING! WOOHOO!
And Oscars is tomorrow. GO BROKEBACK!

I wanna talk about the song which I wrote. =P
There is this song writing competition going on in St. Andrew's, and Xu laoshi asked us to take part. This is the first time I ever tried to compose a song by myself. Spent about an hour on it. The melody came out first, followed by the lyrics. It's entitled "Zai Yi Ci Ba Ni Wan Liu" (Holding you back One last Time). Managed to get piano genius Javier to play the melody on piano (see I am such a good owner I let him learn how to play the piano... bhx!) and I am planning to get Arthur to sing it for me. Well that is provided that my piece gets selected and we can enter the finals. HAHA.

Met up with Arthur today and I "taught" him how to sing my piece. But before that, we went for a movie. Yes, we actually watch "Underworld Evolution". It's M18. I'm not even 18 yet but thanks to Arthur who happens to cheat his way around, we managed to get 2 tickets. Lol...

Initially I wanted to watch "Wolf Creek" or "My girl and I" or something like that. But since our dearest Arthur Tan is sooooo obessed with his Kate Beckinsale, I have decided to watch it with him. And it's pretty exciting as this is my 1st M18 movie in the theaters. =P

---------------

Seriously, this should be a R21.

Summary of "Underworld Evolution": Nudity, freaking disgusting bloody scenes and heads and hands being chopped off like nobody's business.

The only thing in "Kill Bill" which makes it restricted is the bloody shots, and nothing more. Just this can make it R21. I was just wondering how come "Underworld Evolution, a film which has alot of gore and NAKED BODIES be classified as only M18? Weird, so weird.

But anyways, I liked it. =)
No, I'm not trying to lie about this so that Arthur won't feel so bad.
HONESTLY, I liked it.

I didn't watch the 1st one, but I thought that the 2nd one is really very good. The story can be quite confusing at times, but this is one film which will leave you breathless. If you are a fake blood lover, "Underworld Evolution" is the show for you. This isn't a draggy and lame film with all that "Oh, the sky is blue, and I feel so good today!", it is an action-packed movie filled with different elements which will surprise you at certain parts of the movie.

So at the end of they day, it's not just "I killed you, and you die".

This film brings you to another level, together with the "I killed you, and you die" thing.

Watch it, you will love it.

Overall rating for "Underworld Evolution": 8/10

-----------------------------------------

Ate at Pastamania after that, and that marked the end of our very long day.

House cheering tomorrow.
JIA YOU FINTAN!

=)
--------------------------------------------------------
01/03/06 :: Lost grace.
Finally the teachers are not giving homework anymore.
I love post-exam/tests periods. ^^

Anyways, to keep you updated on the latest news of your favourite messenger... ... ...
MSN updated itself again.

Yes, to take a look at it's new "beauty", click here.

Also, I have re-customized my desktop, take a look at it here.

Now, WG's tired and sleepy.
Nights! =)

PS: I love the lyrics of the background music. Go check it out if you have time. "Heaven" by Ayumi Hamasaki.
--------------------------------------------------------
28/02/06 :: Tired.
I didn't feel like going to school today.

Everyday I feel exhausted, and I have no time to do anything... Even if I do have the time, I will be too tired to do it, and this feeling sucks to the core.

But everytime I manage to complete a task, I have this sense of achievement.

Life is so contradicting sometimes.

2006 has been really busy. I did 2 notice boards: gymnastics and Chinese language society, and 3 shirt designs: prefectorial board, gymnastics and Chinese language society in 2 months' time. I didn't get to see any complete shirts so far, but I wish I can get them ASAP.

I'm really looking forward to the annual CLS camp. Hope it can be really fun, as it is the 1st over-night CLS camp in my many years. But the sad thing is that the committee members have to keep the camp running, so we cannot join in the others for games. :S

Eeks, I am having a headache. Must sleep le...

Haha...
This post is utterly useless.

Nights! =)

PS: My essay was featured in our SJI's Chinese department's blog. Funny sia, I didn't know they actually have a blog. Hmmm...

26/02/06 :: New layout!
Took me really long.
Real long.

Just felt that I shouldn't let you guys come here to see the same old shyt over and over again, so as promised, a new layout as a form of apology.

This is probably the simplest layout I have ever done. Took me an hour, with all the usual trials and errors. I needed this to clear my old stuff, and now I have a new (and faster) platform to keep you guys updated. xP

Okay, today's post will be very "generalised". Don't have the energy to do a long post, I've got like so many guests in my house now.

1) Western dining at SHATec. I don't know, but I enjoyed faking my British accent. Lol...

2)
Went to buy cloth for Fintan with Ms. Rahimah, Roy and Javier. Didn't manage to get them at Spotlight cause they had no more stock. Went to Bras Basah with Royston after that to get materials for Gym notice board. Managed to finish the thing at 8+. Had dinner with Calvin, who was doing the badminton notice board, and Roy at Tanglin CC.

3) DARRICK'S 17TH BIRTHDAY! =P
Lucas, Zhao Dong and I met Darrick in Plaza Singapura...
OH! Talking about that... we were gaming in the arcade, and we spotted this machine which has all the phones and PSP things as "prizes". So we played. $1/try.

We wasted like more than $10 on it? I almost got the major prize like 3, 4 times? But I think they modified the machine. The last block SKIPS itself (even when I hit the machine right on time) and it's like so retardedly cheatening. URGGHHH.

But anyways, the highlight of the day was of course, Darrick's dinner.
We dined at Fish and Co and he invited quite a number of his friends. It was fun, we ate really good food and the whole atmosphere was fantastic. Loved my time there, and it was great to see our birthday boy so happy. Hahaha... =P

And actually, yesterday was my dad's birthday as well. ^^
Bought Darrick's present and my dad's one together with Gabriel...
Hope the both of them likes it! Hehehe...

Once again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DARRICK AND DADDY!

That ends off my post for today. =)
